Cognitive IQ Pty Ltd (ABN 62 617 252 892), trading as Career Campus
Cognitive IQ Pty Ltd ABN 62 617 252 892, trading as Career Campus ("Career Campus", "we", "us" or "our"), respects the privacy of individuals and is committed to protecting personal information.
This Privacy Policy explains how Career Campus collects, holds, uses, discloses and protects personal information relating to students, prospective students, parents and guardians, applicants, website visitors, employees, contractors, business partners and other individuals who interact with Career Campus.
Career Campus aims to manage personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) and other applicable Australian privacy and consumer protection laws.
Where the Privacy Act or another applicable law imposes an obligation on Career Campus, that legal obligation prevails over this Policy to the extent of any inconsistency.
Depending on the nature of your relationship with Career Campus, we may collect:
Where a student is under 18, Career Campus may collect information about a parent or guardian, including contact details and consent information.
We may collect payment records, transaction details, invoices, payment status and refund information. Career Campus will generally use third-party payment providers to process card or other electronic payments and does not ordinarily need to retain complete payment-card details.
When you use our website, LMS or digital platforms, we may collect your IP address, browser type, device information, operating system, pages accessed, login information, timestamps, cookies and website analytics information.
If you interact with our advertising, social media, enquiry forms or promotional campaigns, we may collect enquiry information, communication preferences, information provided through forms, responses to marketing campaigns, and course interests.
Career Campus may collect personal information directly from you, through an enrolment form, our website, online enquiry forms, telephone calls, email, social media, information sessions, Career Campus representatives, our LMS and learning platforms, from parents or guardians, from authorised representatives, from third-party service providers, or — where permitted by law — from publicly available sources. Where practicable, Career Campus will collect personal information directly from the individual concerned.
Career Campus may collect and use personal information to process enquiries, assess enrolment applications, administer student enrolments, provide educational and training services, manage course participation, provide access to learning platforms, administer assessments, communicate with students, provide student support, process payments and refunds, maintain academic and administrative records, issue certificates or other documentation, manage complaints, maintain security, prevent fraud or misuse, comply with legal obligations, improve our courses and services, conduct legitimate business administration, and communicate relevant Career Campus services and events where permitted by law.
Career Campus recognises that some information receives additional protection under Australian privacy law. We will only collect sensitive information where permitted or required by law and, where required, with appropriate consent. Students should not provide Career Campus with sensitive information unless it is reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.
Career Campus will generally use personal information for the purpose for which it was collected or for a related purpose permitted by law. Information may be disclosed to employees and authorised Career Campus personnel, trainers and educators, IT and LMS providers, payment processors, software providers, professional advisers, accountants and auditors, legal advisers, regulators and government authorities where legally required, service providers assisting Career Campus, or other parties where the individual has consented or disclosure is otherwise permitted by law. Career Campus will not sell students' personal information as a commercial product.
Career Campus may use service providers or systems located outside Australia. Depending on the systems used, personal information may be stored or accessed overseas, including in connection with cloud services, LMS platforms, software providers, communications platforms, technical support, administrative services, and business operations associated with Career Campus. Where applicable, Career Campus will take reasonable steps required by Australian privacy law before disclosing personal information overseas — this is particularly relevant given Career Campus's personnel and service providers outside Australia.
Career Campus may send information about courses, information sessions, career opportunities, events, educational resources, Career Campus services and related programs. Where required by law, individuals will be provided with an appropriate means to opt out of direct marketing communications, and may unsubscribe at any time.
Career Campus may from time to time photograph, record or film classes, information sessions, graduation or completion events, promotional activities, student interviews and testimonials. Career Campus will seek appropriate permission where required before using an identifiable student for promotional purposes. A student may withdraw consent for future promotional use, subject to reasonable limitations concerning material already lawfully published or distributed.
Career Campus will take reasonable steps to protect personal information against misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, unauthorised modification and unauthorised disclosure. Security measures may include access controls, passwords, user authentication, restricted administrative access, secure cloud systems, staff confidentiality obligations, system monitoring, backups and security procedures.
Career Campus will maintain procedures for identifying, assessing and responding to suspected data breaches. Where a data breach is subject to the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, Career Campus will comply with its applicable legal obligations, including notification requirements where required.
An individual may request access to personal information held by Career Campus about them. Career Campus will deal with access requests in accordance with applicable privacy law.
If an individual believes that personal information held by Career Campus is inaccurate, incomplete, out of date, irrelevant or misleading, they may request correction. Career Campus will take reasonable steps to correct personal information where required.
Privacy complaints should initially be submitted to Career Campus. Career Campus will acknowledge the complaint, investigate where appropriate, seek further information if necessary, provide a response within a reasonable period, and explain available escalation options where appropriate. Where an individual is dissatisfied with the handling of a privacy complaint, they may have the right to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
Career Campus recognises that some students may be under 18. Where appropriate, Career Campus may seek information or consent from a parent or legal guardian, and will take reasonable steps to ensure information relating to young people is handled appropriately and in accordance with applicable privacy obligations.
Career Campus may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will be published through the Career Campus website or otherwise made available to students.
